Questions about the Open Data Portal
Whether you have questions, comments, suggestions for improvement, or want to request a specific dataset, we’d love to hear from you. We’re pretty active on social media too. You can find the Open Data team on
Twitter,
GitHub,
Medium, and and via
e-mail.
Questions about the content of a particular dataset?
Questions about a particular dataset should be sent to
opendata@toronto.ca. Your submission will be directed to the divisional associate best equipped to handle your query. Soon, all dataset pages on the portal will include detailed information on the data provider and any ancillary, important information (i.e. relevant division or business unit) to help answer the more frequent questions we receive about datasets.
Submitting a dataset?
To submit a dataset for listing on the Open Data portal, please contact
opendata@toronto.ca. Please note that all submitted datasets are subject to an extensive privacy review and may be formatted for technical viability and machine readability. Your data may also need to be adjusted to ensure that it fits the principles of the International Open Data Charter (IODC) and is subject to release under the City’s Open Government License. We have a transparent process and prioritize high demand datasets that align with the 5 civic issues, which you can learn more about here:
