TTC Service Pulse is an independent civic data platform that helps residents explore Toronto’s transit system beyond trip planning. It combines live bus and streetcar locations, subway service updates, scheduled service information, ward-level evidence, Statistics Canada population data, and OpenStreetMap community context. The platform highlights the number of vehicles currently visible, differences in service and access across Toronto, and the public places connected by individual routes. Its “Day in the Life of a Route” feature shows how transit routes connect neighbourhoods with schools, health services, libraries, parks, food locations, and community facilities. The goal is to make public transit data easier to understand while supporting informed civic discussion about mobility, accessibility, and transit equity.
